Dentinal hypersensitivity , also commonly called tooth sensitivity is a short, sharp pain arising from exposed dentin in response to stimuli typically thermal, evaporative, tactile, osmotic or chemical which cannot be ascribed to any other form of dental defect or pathology. Clinical Features: It is one of the most encountered dental problem. Intensity of pain varies from mild discomfort to severe sensitivity. Pain is rapid in onset, sharp in character and short in duration.
